Worked as a Graduate Student Instructor for 40 students at University of Michigan, School of Information. Grading student assignments, helping with course work, giving constant feedback to students for solving their problems and narrowing down the problem domain and using design to solve problems.
Worked as a Product Design Intern at FarmLogs for the summer working on different parts of the app. Designed & Delivered an educational trial feature for the app which was used by over 110,000 standard users of the app which lead to an increased in 1% conversion rate over a period of 2 months.
Elected by peers as one of the two Officers for the Student Organization at University of Michigan. As a officer, responsibilities would include having Design Jams hosted by acclaimed comapnies, Workshops around portfolio & resume development, CHI Papers, etc.
Presented our travel app concept to representatives at companies like Tumblr, Food Network, Mighty, METRO, Startup Health. The Trek was a interesting experience that helped shaped the design thinking process, usability testing and presentation skills in front of company representatives.
Joined IRLEE, as an Research Associate for developing and working on the graphics, content and the presentation of material in the Institute. Worked on Federal funded program, MForesight and made a website in nine days, followed by continuous design and development of assets of various programs across institute.
Acquired by a startup in Mumbai called "Genii Technoligies", which was a client servicing startup in Web Technologies. I worked initially as a iOS developer for the first few months but then due to lack of client projects in the field, transferred to Backend developer using MVC frameworks like Ruby on Rails & Laravel PHP.
After completing the Buddhism and Modern Pyshcology course from Coursera, it felt compelling to meditate and try out all that I had learnt for myself. The 10 day silent retreat, taught me the purpose of meditation and allowed me to follow the eight fold path of buddhism, it was a complete success and opened up horizons I had never explored.
Irrational Behaviour was a course on behavioural psychology, and how it works around us in various scenarios. For instance, how too many choice's will complicate a user, or how increasing the distance between money and mode of transfter increases cheating. The course was a good assistance for my career as well because it helped me design interfaces that created more emphasis on the user perspective.
Graduated from the University of Mumbai, as an Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science. I wanted to explore, the complete process of Web Product Development from gather user requirements to deployment & maintenance which lead to my next step of being a Freelancer.
Completed by first course on Coursera for Gamification. The interest sprung out of the need to understand we as humans are motivated, how does the brain work and why are games so good at doing this. The course gave some splendid examples and the writing assignments allowed us to showcase our understanding of the subject and how it isn't just about Points, Badges and Leaderboards but rather a procees of deeper understanding the users.
Interned at Genii Technologies, which was quiet interesting, it introduced concepts like MVC and API’s which were only understood in theory before this. Learned a lot at the company in the 4 months. Working on primarily on MyTravelGenie, a project that invovled using Airline booking API and was built on Ruby on Rails. This gave me a kickstart, in my web developing career.
Created designs for posters, banners and T-shirts graphics for the charity event. Acquired a sponsorship of INR 100,000 with the help of seniors and colleagues. Worked with other college societies and the student council in harmony.
Organized a college event successfully with a very efficient team. Recruited new members, and got an sponsorship for events worth 50,000 INR. This was followed by a successful year of workshops, new innovative events being introduced, and learning to work with a team and manage members. A lot of support was provided by the seniors and our mentor which held us strong.
The very onset of my career as a computer engineer. Started with my first project Unqualified Geeks with a couple of friends, a forum for sharing notes and study material. This gave me a very early exposure to php, html and css. I also got to Work as a creative head for a college event, designing posters, performing video editing and co-ordinating annual day performances.
